Your day, moment by moment

Every wedding has its own shape.
Here’s how we usually fit into it.

Solemnisation and march-in

A duo is often all a solemnisation needs, whether you are at the ROM or exchanging vows at your venue. Vocals and guitar, soft enough that every word carries, warm enough to fill the room. We’ll play your march-ins, and we’ll talk the songs through with you long before the day.

Cocktail hour

Familiar songs while your guests arrive, find their names and start talking. Loud enough to warm up the room, quiet enough that nobody has to shout. A duo or trio suits this part of the day well.

Lunch or dinner reception

No awkward silences between courses. A trio or quartet gives the room a fuller sound, and we keep the volume where your guests can still talk across the table. Lunch or dinner, the job is the same.

First dance and the dance floor

Tell us your first-dance song and we’ll learn it for you. After that the requests start coming in from the floor, and when it is time to dance, a quartet or the full band is what gets everyone up.

Choosing your band size

Every band size plays weddings.
The difference is how much room they fill.

Requests, dedications and your emcee

Guests can send us song requests and dedications while we play, and we’ll work them into the set where they fit. Need someone to hold the evening together as well? Our emcee add-on keeps your programme moving.

We bring the sound

We can bring the sound for any band size, and we recommend it for most venues. Most hotel ballroom systems are built for speeches and background music rather than a live band. Choose “Roseville provides sound” in the estimator and it’s included in your estimate. If your venue is providing the system, it’s worth checking with them first that it suits a live band, and we’re happy to speak to their team.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions couples ask us

On the day

Can you play our solemnisation and our reception?

Yes, and plenty of couples do exactly that — a duo for the ceremony, then a bigger band once the reception starts. Switching band sizes within one booking costs a small top-up, and we’ll show it in your quote.

How does the march-in work?

Most Singapore weddings have two march-ins, some have just one, and either is completely fine. We’ll play for both if that’s your programme. We take our cue from whoever is running the room that day: your emcee, your planner, the banquet manager, or one of your bridesmaids or groomsmen. It’s different at every wedding, so we’ll agree on it with your team beforehand. The songs are something we’ll talk through with you, and we’re happy to suggest a few if you’d like somewhere to start.

What if our ceremony is outdoors?

We’d always ask for a sheltered spot for the band, since rain and direct sun are both hard on instruments and electrics. We can still play in the open: if the weather turns, we pause and cover the equipment to keep it safe, then pick up again once it passes. That’s written into our agreement, and the fee stays as agreed.

What if our venue is providing the sound system?

That’s no problem. We’ll speak to their AV team and sort out the details with them. It’s worth checking early that their system is built for a live band rather than speeches. If there’s something they can’t provide, we can bring it ourselves, though that would be an added cost on top of what the venue charges.

Do you bring a full drum kit?

We can definitely bring a full drum kit. We usually bring a compact e-drum kit as it takes up less space and makes the volume easier to control. However, some events suit an acoustic kit better. We begin every booking process with a quick call or Zoom to get a feel for your day and the vibe you’re after, then recommend the band size and setup that fits. If you’d like an acoustic kit, just ask us.

Do we need to provide a meal for the band?

No need to find us seats at the banquet — your table plan is complicated enough without us on it. That said, a simple meal is always appreciated when we’re with you for a long day, and a GrabFood order to wherever we’re set up does the job nicely.

The music

Is a duo enough for a big banquet?

It’s doable, but we’ll be honest with you: in a large ballroom a duo can end up looking and sounding a little thin. From around 250 guests upwards we’d suggest starting at the trio and going from there. For a smaller, more intimate wedding, a duo is lovely.

How long do you play?

Usually 60, 90 or 120 minutes of music in total, split into sets with short breaks. At a wedding that often means one set through dinner and a longer one once the dancing starts. We’ll fit it around your programme.

Do we get to choose the songs?

Definitely. We usually suggest picking three or four songs you really want to hear, then giving us a guide to the vibe you’re after, and we’ll build the rest of the sets around it. That also leaves room for your guests’ requests, and we’ll make sure they fit the mood. If you’d rather handpick the whole setlist, that’s great too. We’ve played plenty of weddings where every song was chosen by the couple.

Can you learn our first-dance song?

Yes. Special requests are welcome, and a first-dance song is one of the most common ones we get. Send it to us once you’ve settled on it and we’ll have it ready for the day.

Can our guests request songs on the night?

Yes, and nothing needs to be arranged in advance. We use a QR code on the night: guests scan it, send us the song and a dedication if they’d like to add one, and we fit it into the set where it works.

Do you play Mandarin or Chinese songs?

Yes, we can include a few. We keep them limited so the music stays welcoming for guests who don’t speak Chinese. If you’re hoping for a mostly Chinese playlist, we’re probably not the right fit for you. Feel free to reach out anyway, though. We’d be happy to recommend some of our friends who’d be better suited.

Booking

How far ahead should we book?

At least six months is the safest, especially for a popular date. If yours is sooner than that, still ask. It’s always worth checking whether we’re free.

Is there a deposit?

Yes. A 50% deposit confirms the booking, and your date is blocked out in our calendar as soon as it’s in.
